Cannon Hill Park

Cannon Hill Park LakeCannon Hill Park is loved both as a Birmingham City Park and for the wide range of activities it offers to the community, park users and visitors from across the region and tourists who appreciate the city’s parks and green open spaces.

The Green Flags flying near the main entrances are for the Award which Cannon Hill Park has received from the Civic Trust again this year based on four important criteria:

  • the Welcome shown to visitors, safety and cleanliness in all park areas and amenities.
  • the Heritage Features and park design
  • the Community Support shown to running of the Park and the wide range of user activities
  • the Sustainable Management of the parks natural resources for wildlife and citizens in the future.

Park Friends have shown their support to all four of these main values of the Green Flag to Cannon Hill Park in the following ways: -

  1. Notice-boards at the MAC and Nature Centre Gateways, and in the Park Garden Café and Information Centre, showing activities or future events .
  2. Displays demonstrating the Park’s Heritage Features, leaflets and several trails to guide visitors.
  3. The range of use by the community, & developments shared with the Parks Manager and Rangers.
  4. Planning and sustainable interaction in the Park’s woodland, meadow and water conservation areas
