Manor Farm Park

The Manor Farm Park is a semi-rural area of some 20 hectares by the Bristol Road, between Northfield and Selly Oak. It was given to the City by the Cadbury family in the late 1950’s and “The Friends” were formed in 1984. The park forms part of a wildlife corridor in the City, with woodlands, a lake with wildfowl, wildflowers and is home to various small animals. There are also large areas of mown grass, a children’s play area and a 2km walk trail.

The group got started because the environment was deteriorating and it was time somebody did something about it.

The Friends of Manor Park work together with the Council to improve and maintain amenities in the park. We organise meetings and walks in the park and along the wildlife corridor, we research the history of the park, as well as the more down to earth activities of bulb planting and rubbish clearing.

For the future we would like to improve amenities for older children and young adults and continue to improve footpaths.
