Metamorphosis at the Martineau Gardens Open Day - Sunday 28th Septmeber 2008 11am-3pm
Connecting education, well being and the natural environment. Come to visit our beautiful formal gardens and wildlife habitat with over two acres of organically maintained land located in Edgbaston, two miles from Birmingham City Centre. Volunteers are always welcome to help with the work in the gardens.
Work partys - Friends of Kings Norton Nature Reserve - Dates throughout the year
The Friends of Kings Norton Nature Reserve are holding work parties throughout the year at their various sites. Activities include; hedge planting, dead hedging, site clearance, seeding wildflower area.

We have two grants available one for the set up costs of starting a new group and one for a new event that an established group wants to hold.
Real Christmas Tree Recycling
Cotteridge and Muntz Parks took part in a recycling scheme again this year and managed to collect a total of 430 trees.
Local Parks & Green Spaces As Action Centres For Climate Change
As we look at local change brought about through climate change our local parks and green spaces can serve as action centres for our local planet – and show the part played by plants, wildlife and people in a local Biodiversity Action Plan.
Birmingham Trees for Life
On Friday 27th October at 3.15pm the first apple trees will be planted at Cotteridge Community Orchard. The day marks the beginning of the final stage in the transformation of a rough patch of neglected land adjacent to Cotteridge Park into a real orchard for local people to enjoy. The event will also be Birmingham’s first ever ‘Apple Day’.
Muntz Park's Play Area Opening
We celebrated the park's anniversary again this year with a Birthday Picnic on Friday 19th May 2006. We will also be opened the new play area on this day with a visit from the Deputy Lord Mayor of Birmingham and live music.
Bats in Birmingham
Count Bat is a series of open days to tell people about all things ‘batlike and involves fun activities for the kids (and adults), such as arts and crafts, bat games and lots more – including a live bat so you can get a close up look at what they’re really like.
Raddlebarn Primary School's Centenary Gates
It was Raddlebarn Primary School's Centenary year in 2005 and they had an ornamental gate installed on the 18th October 2005 for the children to access Muntz Park more safely. Part of the construction took place in the play ground and some of the pupils designed and made the pictures within the panels themselves.
Friends of Muntz Park receive almost £5000
