Friends of Daisy Farm Park, Billesley.
Cotteridge Community Orchard is go!
Thanks to a very generous donation from the Midlands Co-operative Society and the hard work of local people Cotteridge Park now has the land to create its own community orchard.
The aim of the project is to create a community orchard and tree nursery. The orchard project will be a focus for work with local people and local schools to look at growing,harvesting, cooking and eating good food. The tree nursery will provide a service to other local parks and open spaces by providing trees to replace natural wasteage across the District.
Local people raised nearly £4,000 by donations, a sponsored walk, carol singing and selling home-made christmas cards.
