Signing Up to Breathing Places - DO ONE THING

I wanted to let you know that I’m going to:

  • Plant a tree
  • Get baking for the birds
  • Nurture my nettles
  • Give peat the push
  • Tune into the dawn chorus
  • Keep my bees in clover
  • Dig a steaming pile
  • Be happy rain is filling my water butt
  • Give a bird a home
  • Reap what I sow
  • Love my limpets
  • Bury a bucket for a beetle
  • Check into a bug hotel
  • Go with the flow downstream
  • Give my butterflies a buckthorn
  • Plant daisies for my hoverflies
For more information go to the Breathing Places Website.

Green Space
GreenSpace is a registered charity set up to help those committed to the planning, design, management and use of public parks and open spaces.

GreenSpace is the nation’s leading network of information and assistance for the improvement of all parks and green spaces, with a membership of more than half of the local authorities in the country, a network of over 3,000 community groups involved with green space, and a website that attracted more than 200,000 visits last year.

Birmingham City Council

Parks and Nature Conservation
Did you know that there are more than 8000 acres of parks and open spaces within Birmingham? That's more than in any other city in the UK! It also ranks us with many of the greenest cities in Europe.

Birmingham is most proud of the quality of our local parks. Within a short distance of where you live, work or are visiting, you will be able to enjoy your parks facilities every day of the year.

Our parks and open spaces provide the setting for a diverse mix of activities available for all the people of Birmingham to enjoy. Whether you wish to take part in an organised activity or sit back and enjoy a nice place to relax, you will be able to find it all in our parks.
