Birmingham City CouncilRanger Service Rangers also work very closely with schools to provide help with creating, caring for and using natural habitat areas. They can also offer activities linked to the National Curriculum, which are both educational and fun. These can take place at the school or a local park, depending on the type of activity. Subjects covered by Rangers can include Maths in the Environment, such as ageing trees, Art in the Environment – using natural materials to create art work, Earth Walks to study the effects humans have on the environment, Mini-beast Safaris, Practical Conservation such as pond creation, Tree Planting, Rural Crafts, Food Chains and Tree Trails. They can also offer slide talks and tactile talks, story telling and environmental games. | |
